List view error: 'Picklist Value does not Exist'

Publiseringsdato: Jun 21, 2026
Beskrivelse

The error Picklist Value does not Exist may appear when creating or editing list views that are filtered on picklist fields.

Løsning

Cause 1: Filter Criteria Exceeds 80-Character Limit

When creating a list view where the search criteria is based on a picklist field, only up to 80 characters (including spaces) can be entered. Check the final value in your filter criteria to ensure that the full field value was added. If the full value was not added, create an additional line of filter criteria and use the 'OR' function within the Advanced Filter Criteria to include the remaining values.

Example: If the total character length for all selected values is 100 characters, roughly 20 characters will be cut off. If the cut-off point occurs midway through one picklist value, this error is returned.

Cause 2: Picklist Value Contains a Comma

Picklist values that contain commas must be placed in quotes when used in filter criteria.

Cause 3: Locale-Specific Translation Conflict with Inactive Picklist Value

A less common cause occurs when a user with a non-English locale is filtering on a translated picklist value that matches an inactive picklist value. The solution is to delete the inactive value causing the conflict.
Example: If a picklist has an inactive value 'Interno' and an active value 'Internal' with an Italian translation that is identical to the inactive value, Italian users will encounter this error when creating or modifying a list view using that value.
Note: This error also appears in reports when filtering based on a picklist field.
