Customize a Salesforce Home Page layout

To Create and Assign Custom Home Page Layouts

In Lightning:

1. Click the gear icon
2. Go to Setup, enter App Builder in the Quick Find box, then select Lightning App Builder.
3. Click New, and select Home Page.
4. Click Next
5. Enter label
6. Click Next
7. Choose Page Template
8. Click Finish
9. Add your preferred components
10. Click Save
11. Click Activate
12. Choose where you want to assign the homepage
13. Click Save

In Classic:

1. Go to Setup | Customize | Home | Home Page Layouts
2. Click the New button and select a layout you'd like to model the new one from.  Give the new layout a name.
3. Select the components you'd like to include.
4. Click Next to select the order you would like the components to appear on the page.  You are able to move components up and down on the page, but are not able to move components from left to right.
5. Click Save & Assign to assign the new layout to the desired User profiles.
6. Click Save.

Note: If you are selecting a Dashboard Component on your Home Page Layout, the users that are assigned the layout will need to have at least read access to a Dashboard folder in order to view the component. The first row of the Dashboard will be displayed on the Home Page.
