How to Import Events into a Public Calendar in Salesforce

You can easily add multiple events to a Public Calendar or Resource Calendar in Salesforce by using the Import feature. This guide will walk you through preparing your file and using the import wizard.

Step 1: Prepare Your Import File

Before you begin, create a CSV file with your event information. Your file must include the following columns:

  • Subject: The name of the event.

  • Start Date/Time: For example, 09/17/2025 11:00 AM.

  • End Date/Time: For example, 09/17/2025 12:00 PM.

  • Assigned To: The exact name of the Public or Resource Calendar (e.g., "Company Events Calendar").

Step 2: Use the Salesforce Import Wizard

  • In Salesforce Lightning, click the App Launcher (the nine-dot grid) and search for Events.

  • From the Events home page, click the Import button in the top right corner.

  • On the import screen:

    • Select Events.

    • Select Add New Records.

    • In the "Assign To" field, make sure Leave it as is in the file is selected. This is crucial for assigning the event to your public calendar.

    • Drag your CSV file to the upload area.

  • Click Next.

  • Salesforce will automatically map the fields from your CSV. Ensure they are mapped correctly (e.g., Subject to Subject, Start Date/Time to Start).

  • Click Next, and then click Start Import.

You will receive an email notification when the import is complete. Your events will now appear on the specified Public Calendar.
