Access the Tasks and Events list views

Tasks and Events in Salesforce are activity records used to track to-dos, calls, meetings, and customer interactions. As a best practice, Tasks and Events are accessible through several locations depending on whether you are using Salesforce Classic or Lightning Experience.
In Salesforce Classic:

  • View the Activities related lists on the associated records
  • Scroll to the My Tasks component on the Home tab
  • Click on a specific date on the Calendar on the Home tab

In Lightning Experience:

  • View the Activity Timeline on the associated records
  • Click the Calendar tab from the app menu
  • View the Today's Tasks and Today's Events components on the Home tab

If these default views do not provide the level of detail or filtering you need, you can create a dedicated list view or tab for Tasks and Events.

By default, Salesforce Classic does not display a Tasks, Events, or Activities tab. You can access list views using one of the following methods:

Accessing and Creating Task List Views in Lightning Experience

  1. Click the App Launcher menu
  2. Enter Tasks in the search box that appears in the popup modal
  3. Click Tasks
  4. You are taken to a list of Tasks. On the right of the currently selected list view, click Create New View
  5. Your new view now displays in Lightning Experience

Accessing and Creating Event List Views in Lightning Experience

  1. Click the App Launcher menu
  2. Search for Calendar
  3. Look for the calendar icon, then select Table (this loads to the Recently Viewed Events page)
  4. Click the gear icon within the Events page
  5. Click New to create a custom Event list view
