The Site Favorite Icon setting update may not be visible to users until up to 24 hours after the setting is saved, because the icon image is served from Salesforce's CDN cache. The CDN cache is refreshed on a daily schedule.
To confirm the setting was saved correctly before waiting:
If the Static Resource name is correctly shown, no further action is required — the updated favorite icon will automatically appear for all users within 24 hours.
