Include CC and BCC contacts on emails you send from Salesforce

When sending an email from Salesforce, you can include additional recipients using CC (Carbon Copy) or BCC (Blind Carbon Copy). CC sends a visible copy of the email to additional recipients. BCC sends a hidden copy — BCC addresses are not visible to other recipients and do not appear in the activity timeline. This article explains how to add CC and BCC recipients when composing emails in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.

Løsning

There are two ways to CC (Carbon Copy) or BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) additional people when you are sending an email from Salesforce. Follow the steps below based on your Salesforce interface.
Note: CC stands for Carbon Copy — the recipient receives the email and other recipients can see they were included. BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy — the recipient receives the email but their address is hidden from all other recipients. BCC addresses do not appear in the activity timeline.

In Lightning Experience

CC or BCC Users and Contacts in Lightning Experience

To add CC or BCC recipients when composing an email in Salesforce Lightning Experience:

  1. Open the Email Composer from the record you are working on (for example, a Case or Contact).
  2. Click the CC or BCC link to expand the CC or BCC field.
  3. Start typing the name of the person you want to include. Salesforce automatically looks up the record for both Contacts/Leads and Users.
  4. To add someone outside of Salesforce, manually enter their email address directly in the CC or BCC field.

Note: BCC addresses are not displayed in the activity timeline after the email is sent.


In Salesforce Classic

Note: Salesforce Classic is a legacy interface. Most users are now on Lightning Experience. If you are using Lightning Experience, see the section above.

CC or BCC Users (Salesforce Classic)

  1. Click the Lookup icon next to the CC or BCC link.
  2. From the Show dropdown, select All Co-workers in Company. A list of users appears on the left side under Contacts.
  3. Use the double arrow buttons to move the desired contacts to the CC recipients or BCC recipients list.

CC or BCC Contacts on the Account You Are Emailing (Salesforce Classic)

  1. Click the CC or BCC link.
  2. From the Show dropdown, select Contacts: Account [Company Name]. A list of contacts at that account appears on the left side under Contacts.
  3. Use the double arrow buttons to move the desired contacts to the CC recipients or BCC recipients list.
