When using Salesforce Web-to-Lead, you can configure auto-response emails so that they appear to come from the assigned lead owner rather than a generic sender. To achieve this, you mirror your lead assignment rules in your lead auto-response rules, using the same criteria and specifying the lead owner's email template. This ensures that when a lead is assigned to a specific user, the auto-response email is also sent from that user.
To learn the basic procedure for creating auto-response rules, please review 'Set Up Auto-Response Rules' article.
A lead assignment rule routes all leads where "lead state equals CA" to lead owner A.
Create a lead auto response rule with the same criteria - "lead state equals CA.".
Set the email template on this auto response rule to come from the lead owner designated in your lead assignment rule.
Now, when a lead is submitted on your web to lead form with CA as the state, both rules fire and the following happens:
Lead owner A gets the lead.
The user gets an email from lead owner A.
