Some Activities Are Missing After Converting a Lead

Publiseringsdato: Apr 2, 2026
Beskrivelse

When a Lead is converted, Salesforce creates and links new records such as an Account, Contact, and optionally an Opportunity. During this process, Activities are reassigned based on how the conversion is performed.

In certain scenarios, Activities may appear missing after conversion—particularly when an Opportunity is created and later deleted.

Løsning

During Lead conversion, the following actions occur:

  1. An Account is created using the Lead’s company information.
  2. A Contact is created and linked to the Account.
  3. An Opportunity may optionally be created and linked to the Account.

Important Considerations:

  • If an Opportunity is created during conversion and later deleted, associated Activity History may also be lost.
  • If the option “Don’t create an Opportunity upon conversion” is selected, all Activities are linked to the newly created Contact.

To recover or reassign Activities:

  • If the deleted Opportunity is still in the Recycle Bin, restore it.
  • Open each Activity record and update the Related To field to associate it with the correct Account or Contact.
  • After reassigning the Activities, the Opportunity can be deleted again if needed.

Additional Notes:

  • The Chatter feed from the Lead is not transferred during conversion.
  • AppExchange solutions (such as Lead Convert Chatter) may help retain Chatter history.
