Report Printable View vs Export Details to Excel in Salesforce Reports

Udgivelsesdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse

When exporting a Salesforce report, the information included in a "Printable View" may not match the information in an "Export Details" Excel export of the same report. This article explains the difference between the two export options. This behavior applies to Salesforce Classic. In Lightning Experience, Export Details similarly exports detail rows only and does not include Custom Summary Formula fields.

Løsning

Printable View

The Printable View of a report retains the format and summary information of the report. This includes Custom Summary Formula fields.
Notes:

  • Because the Printable View produces an export that represents information displayed in the reporting user interface, Excel may display some data as text instead of numbers.
  • Data shown as text cannot be used in Excel formulas as numbers. If you want to use the data for calculations, use the Export Details option instead.

Export Details

The Export Details to Excel option produces only the detail rows. With only the detail rows available, the exported file contains raw data that is easily modifiable and allows for a smoother import into other systems.
The fields used as groupings for summary format reports are placed as the last column in Excel when the report is exported via Export Details. Any report is rendered as a tabular report in this format.

Note: Custom Summary Formula fields are part of the Summary rows and are not included in the Export Details export.
