When exporting a Salesforce report, the information included in a "Printable View" may not match the information in an "Export Details" Excel export of the same report. This article explains the difference between the two export options. This behavior applies to Salesforce Classic. In Lightning Experience, Export Details similarly exports detail rows only and does not include Custom Summary Formula fields.
The Printable View of a report retains the format and summary information of the report. This includes Custom Summary Formula fields.
Notes:
The Export Details to Excel option produces only the detail rows. With only the detail rows available, the exported file contains raw data that is easily modifiable and allows for a smoother import into other systems.
The fields used as groupings for summary format reports are placed as the last column in Excel when the report is exported via Export Details. Any report is rendered as a tabular report in this format.
Note: Custom Summary Formula fields are part of the Summary rows and are not included in the Export Details export.
