Report Chart Displays an 'Other' Category

Publiseringsdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse
Report charts may display an Other grouping that doesn't seem to correlate with the underlying data within the report.
Løsning
This behavior occurs within report charts.  The report charts will create chart segments for all values that are more than 3% of the grand total.  If one or more of the report's groupings return data that is less than 3% of the grand total, it will be grouped in to the "other" category and added to the chart.

For example:
In a report that is summarizing Opportunities by Region the region "New England" will be displayed in a chart in the "Other" grouping and not as "New England" if it represents 2.42% of the total of the report. This is because this figure is less than 3% of the total report.

The "Other" grouping may also be a combination of multiple items that are less than 3% of the total. Using the above example New England at 2.42% and Canada at 0.61% would both be included in the "Other" category as they are less than 3% of the total for the report. This would display the "Other" group as 3.1% (rounded).

If the chart type is pie, donut, or funnel then unchecking the format option "Combine Small Groups into Others" will remove the Other category.

Steps to remove "Combine Small Groups into Others" checkbox.

  1. Click on the Reports tab.
  2. Open the affected report which has other grouping in the chart.
  3. Click on the gear icon (Chart Properties) located at the top right corner of the report chart.
  4. Uncheck the Combine Small Groups into Others checkbox.
