When using the Mass Mail Merge feature to generate mailing labels, some customers have found a skipping behavior in their generated mail merge documents. Specifically, when reviewing the generated document, they find that every 3rd, 7th, etc record is skipped/excluded from the mail merge document.
The root cause of the "skipping" behavior during a Mass Mail Merge for labels, is an improperly formatted MS Word document that is used as the source for the Mail Merge template. More specifically, the incorrect placement of the 'next record' merge field in the MS Word document can/will cause the skipping behavior.
Attached to this article is a sample MS Word document that can be used to generate mailing labels via Mass Mail Merge without the skipping behavior noticed.
