Create a Report to View Email Bounces for Contacts, Leads, and Person Accounts

Date de publication: Jun 9, 2026
Description

When the Bounce Management feature is activated in Salesforce to track email delivery failures for Contacts, Leads, or Person Accounts, administrators and users can view bounced email addresses using built-in Salesforce reports. Bounce Management captures instances where sent emails could not be delivered — for example, when an email address is invalid or the recipient's inbox is full.
These reports display the bounce reason, the date the bounce occurred, and the associated Contact, Lead, or Person Account record.

This article explains how to use the standard Bounced Contacts and Bounced Leads reports in Salesforce Classic, and how to create a custom bounce report in Lightning Experience.

Use the Standard Bounced Reports (Salesforce Classic Only)

The standard Bounced Contacts and Bounced Leads reports are available out of the box in Salesforce Classic. These reports show only records where a sent email was bounced.

  1. Click the Reports tab.
  2. Access the standard Bounced reports:
    1. Bounced Contacts — Under the folder Account and Contact Report, click Bounced Person Accounts and Contacts.
    2. Bounced Leads — Under the folder Lead Reports, click Bounced Leads.
Note: These standard reports only return records where the sent email was bounced.

Create a Custom Bounce Report (Lightning Experience)

If you use Lightning Experience, or if the standard Bounced reports are not available in your organization, you can create a custom report using the Email Bounced Reason and Email Bounced Date fields available in standard Contact and Lead report types.
Steps for Lightning Experience Report Builder:

  1. Go to the Reports tab.
  2. Click New Report.
  3. Select Accounts & Contacts.
  4. Select Contacts & Accounts from the report type list, then click Continue.
  5. Under Contact: Ph/Fax/Email, look for the Bounced fields.
  6. Add Email Bounced Reason and Email Bounced Date to the Report Preview.
  7. Add a filter: Email Bounced Reason Not Equal to NULL, then click Run Report.

Steps for Classic Experience Report Builder:

  1. Go to the Reports Tab.
  2. Click New Report.
  3. Under Accounts & Contacts, select the Contacts & Accounts report type, then click Next.
  4. Select the type of report (Tabular, Summary, Matrix), then click Next.
  5. Select the fields Email Bounced Reason and Email Bounced Date along with any other required fields, then click Next.
  6. Select the Summary information and type, then click Next.
  7. Re-order Selected Columns if required, then click Next.
  8. Under Field Filters, select Email Bounced Reason Not Equal to NULL, then click Run Report.
