The Unified Public Reports Folder contains shared custom reports created by your Administrator, but not filed into a Custom Report Folder.

This folder is generally used as a placeholder folder for new reports until a Custom Report Folder has been created. Once the new folders are created, you can move your reports to different folders.

In Lightning, this folder is called Public Reports.

The Unified Public Reports folder (called Public Reports in Lightning Experience) has the following characteristics that distinguish it from custom report folders:

Features of the Unified Public Reports Folder

  • Accessible by all users except for Community and Portal License Users.
  • Does not have an option to Edit the folder Properties.
  • Cannot be deleted, even by the administrator.


Note: To set the visibility of a report into Private, you need to move the report into a Private report folder.
