Create Anchor Links in Rich Text Area Fields in Salesforce.

Data pubblicazione: May 6, 2026
Descrizione

In Salesforce, rich text area fields support anchor links, which allow users to create in-page navigation within a record. For example, an anchor link in a Case description can jump directly to the relevant troubleshooting section without scrolling. Use the rich text editor toolbar to insert the anchor and then link to it.

Risoluzione

The steps to create anchor links in a rich text area field are;

  1. Place your mouse cursor in the field where the anchor needs to be inserted and enter the text you will link to.
  2. Select the anchor text and click on the flag icon in the toolbar, enter the Anchor Name in the Anchor Properties popup window.
  3. Place your mouse cursor in the text field where the link to the anchor needs to be inserted and enter the link text.
  4. Select the Link text and click on the link icon in the toolbar, change the Link Type in the popup window to "Link in anchor in the text" and change By Anchor Name to the anchor you are linking to.
  5. After the field is saved, the Anchor Link should move the page to the Anchor Text.

Notes:

  • As of Winter 16 release we have updated the Anchor plugin to HTML 4.0 spec which does not allow spaces in anchor names.
  • The anchor must begin with a letter ([A-Za-z]) and may be followed by any number of letters, digits ([0-9]), hyphens ("-"), underscores ("_"), colons (":"), and periods (".")
