To improve the speed and performance of Activity reports, Salesforce automatically archives older Activities (Tasks and Events) to reduce the number of records being searched in Activity reporting and SOQL queries. Archiving impacts Reports, List Views, and the Calendar View.
You can view and interact with archived activities in exported data and other locations in Salesforce. If your organization requires a longer archive period for Activities, a System Administrator can submit a limit increase request with Salesforce Support using the steps below.
All Editions
Default Limit: 365 days
Maximum Limit: 3,650 days (10 years). Any requests above 10 years need to be reviewed by Support with a strong business reason. There is no guarantee of approval for requests that large.
Recommended Maximum:
1,826 days (5 years + 1 leap day)

Review the important considerations in the Resolution section below before submitting a limit increase request, as increasing this limit can impact Activity report and list view performance.

To increase the Archive Days limit beyond 365 days, you'll need assistance from Salesforce Support.
