Switch Login Server in Salesforce Mobile App

You can configure Salesforce for Android and iOS, Field Service, and Salesforce mobile apps to log in to:

  • Sandbox environments
  • SSO pages
  • Other instances


Note: Starting with release 260.020 on iOS and 260.030 on Android, "Production - Log in with email"  is the default login page for the Salesforce Mobile App.This article applies only to the downloadable apps.

IMPORTANT:  The 'Use Custom Domain' link is not advised when the Switch Server method below is available.

In order to log into the Salesforce Mobile App with a custom domain, you want to make sure you are following these steps: 

For Android

  1. On the Log In page, tap either Menu Icon (three gray dots)  or the menu button on your device.

  2. Tap Change Server.

  3. Tap Add Connection, ( if you are not using a custom domain, you can select one of the predefined instances: Production or Sandbox
  4. Enter the host name of the new instance and enter the URL you use to log in to that instance, then tap Apply.
    IMPORTANT The host name must start with https://
  5. Tap the name of the newly created instance, then tap Apply.
  6. Log in.

 

For iOS

  1. On the Log In page, tap the gear symbol in the upper-right hand corner.

  2. Tap the '+' symbol  to add a new login host ( if you are not using a custom domain, you can select one of the predefined instances: Production or Sandbox 

  3. Enter the host name of the new instance.
  4. Enter a label for the new instance, if desired.
  5. Tap Done.
  6. Tap the name of the newly created instance, then log in.

Notes:

  • Make sure you are using your My Domain URL that ends with '.my.salesforce.com'.  If you use '.lightning.force.com', this URL is not supported and you may see errors such as "Grant Type not supported".
  • If the gear icon is not available on the login screen for Inbox for iOS, please note that domain entry by tapping 'Use Custom Domain' must be repeated with each login.
  • Custom Domain URLs are case sensitive. 
  • Communities using Lightning Templates must be accessed via your device mobile browser or you can connect with your Account team to consider creating an app using Mobile Publisher for Experience Sites. You can read more about this here
