Salesforce Multi-Currency: Decimal Places Display Incorrectly on Currency Fields When Set to Zero

Julkaisupäivä: Oct 13, 2022
Kuvaus

In Salesforce orgs where Multi-Currency is enabled, the decimal place setting configured on a currency field at the object level is superseded by the decimal configuration set at the currency level in Setup (Manage Currencies). This means a currency field set to 0 decimal places may still display decimals if the currency's own decimal setting is configured differently. Conversely, a field set to 2 decimal places may display no decimals depending on the active currency.

This behavior varies by currency — for example, USD may display decimals while JPY (Japanese Yen) does not, because JPY is configured with 0 decimal places at the currency level.

Ratkaisu

This is expected behavior when Multi-Currency is enabled in your Salesforce org. The decimal place setting on a currency field object is superseded by the setting configured in the Currency Setup page.

Example: If the Decimal Place setting on a currency field is set to 0 but the active currency (e.g., USD) has a Decimal Place setting of 2 at the currency level, the amount will display with 2 decimal places regardless of the field-level setting.

Salesforce Classic Steps

  1. Click your Name > Setup > Administration Setup > Company Profile > Manage Currencies.
  2. Click the Manage Currencies button to go to the Currency Setup page.
  3. Under Active Currencies, review the Decimal Places configured for each currency.
  4. To edit, click Edit next to the currency you want to update and make your changes.

Lightning Experience Steps

  1. Click the gear icon > Setup > Company Settings > Manage Currencies, then click Manage Currencies.
  2. Under Active Currencies, click Edit next to the currency you want to update.
  3. Update the decimal places and click Save.
