Salesforce Time-Based Workflow Actions: Execution Interval and Expected Behavior

n Salesforce, time-based workflow actions do not always execute at the exact time displayed in the Setup Monitoring menu. This is expected behavior.
Users can monitor pending time-based workflow actions in the queue using the following steps:
Salesforce Classic:

  1. Click Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, type Time-Based Workflow.
  3. Under Monitor, select Time-Based Workflow.
  4. Click Search to view all pending actions for active workflow rules, or set filter criteria and click Search to view matching pending actions.

Lightning Experience:

  1. Click the gear icon.
  2. Select Setup.
  3. In the Quick Find box, type Time-Based Workflow.
  4. Under Environments | Monitoring, select Time-Based Workflow.
  5. Click Search to view all pending actions for active workflow rules, or set filter criteria and click Search to view matching pending actions.

The Scheduled Date field shows the expected execution time. However, the actual time of execution may differ from this displayed time.



Time based workflow actions will not always execute at the exact time displayed in the Monitoring setup menu. For more, please review FAQ on 'time-based' workflows

Lösning

Salesforce Workflow Time Triggers are batched and processed every 15 minutes. The expectations for execution of time-based workflow actions are as follows:

  • Time-based workflow actions execute within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
  • If the Time Trigger per-hour limit is exceeded, the batch is pushed to the next hour.

 

Considerations for Time-Dependent Actions and Time Triggers still apply.
