Salesforce Opportunity Does Not Have the 'Clone with or without the Products' Button

Data pubblicazione: Apr 2, 2026
Descrizione

Some Opportunities have the Clone dropdown button while others don't. Instead of the Clone dropdown button, they show a plain Clone button that when used, doesn’t copy the Products in the Opportunity.
For example, a sales rep attempting to clone a renewal Opportunity with an older Product catalog may encounter this issue if any associated Product or Price Book Entry was deactivated since the Opportunity was created.

Risoluzione

When an Salesforce Opportunity has an inactive Salesforce Product associated with it, the record only shows a plain Clone button instead of the Clone dropdown button.

This happens when there’s an inactive Product related to one of the Salesforce Opportunity Products. To address, edit the Product, click the Active checkbox, click Save then go back to the Opportunity.

The Clone button then changes into the Clone dropdown button giving you the option to choose between 'Clone with Products' and 'Clone without Products.'

Note:

This behavior also happens when the Product is active but the Price Book isn’t active and Order object when an Order Product Line Item has an associated inactive Product.

OR

When the Price Book Entry isn’t active (for example, when the Product has been deactivated within the Price Book related to the Opportunity or archived).
