Salesforce Apex Future Request (Asynchronous Apex) Governor Limit Exceeded

Date de publication: Jun 19, 2026
Description

Overview

Asynchronous Apex refers to Apex code that runs outside the standard synchronous execution model in Salesforce. This includes Batch Apex, future methods, Queueable Apex, and Scheduled Apex.
Each Salesforce org has a governor limit on the maximum number of asynchronous Apex method executions allowed per 24-hour period: 250,000, or the number of user licenses multiplied by 200 — whichever is greater.
When this limit is exceeded, a "Future Request Limit exceeded" error occurs. This limit can be increased only under emergency situations.

Policy on Increasing Asynchronous Apex Limits

Salesforce governor limits cannot be increased as a standard support request. The following policy applies to limit increase requests:

  • Governor limits cannot be increased permanently.
  • For emergency situations with strong business impact, R&D may review a request for a temporary increase. Product Manager approval is required.
  • Temporary increases are granted for a maximum of 2 weeks.
  • There is no guarantee that all requests will be approved.
  • Orgs need the appropriate licenses in place to handle peak loads. Increases for Key Event Management (KEM) peaks cannot be accommodated at this time.

Recommended Actions

    • Review or modify your application to stay within the allotted asynchronous Apex method executions for the org.
    • Purchase additional Salesforce user licenses to increase the future call allowance (limit = user licenses × 200).
