When the letterhead on an HTML email template needs to be updated, you may find the letterhead field is locked or that you cannot select a different letterhead after the template has been created. Once an email template with a letterhead is created, users cannot select a different letterhead for that template.
This article explains how to swap the logo on an existing Classic Letterhead so that all email templates using that letterhead are updated automatically.
Ensure your new logo has been saved in the Documents object in Salesforce Classic as a .png or .jpg file with the Externally Available Image checkbox selected. This step is required for the logo to appear as a selectable image in the letterhead editor. The Documents object is only accessible in Salesforce Classic.
