Salesforce Password Reset Emails — System Administrator Email Address Appears and Templates Cannot Be Customized

Julkaisupäivä: Jul 17, 2026
Kuvaus

When a System Administrator resets a user's password from the User record page in Salesforce, an email is sent to the user containing a link to create a new password. This password reset email automatically includes the email address of the System Administrator who performed the reset.
At this time, it is not possible to customize or modify the password reset email template in Salesforce.

How to Prevent the System Administrator Email Address from Appearing in Password Reset Emails

Option 1 — Have the user reset their own password
Direct the user to reset their password from the Salesforce login page using the "Forgot your password?" link. This method sends a reset email that does not include the System Administrator's email address. If the issue persists, the user must contact their administrator.
Option 2 — Use a dedicated support user for password resets
Create a separate Salesforce user account dedicated to technical support and password resets. Configure this user with a generic internal support email address or a no-reply address. All administrators who perform password resets should log in as this support user when resetting passwords on behalf of other users.
