Recover Merged Salesforce Contacts

Description

When two Contact records are merged, the record chosen as the 'master' is saved and the duplicate record goes to the Recycle Bin.

Resolution
On the Contact History of the master record, you will see "Contact Merged" (referring to the record in the Recycle Bin).  In the example below, the Test 1 contact would be the master record and Test 2 will be available in the recycle bin.
 

Users can go into the Recycle Bin at this point, and restore the duplicate or deleted record. The restore action doesn't affect the master record with the "Contact Merged" stamp in its Contact Record. If the deleted record isn’t available in the Recycle Bin, it means that it's been permanently deleted.
