Object Name doesn't display within a Report on Report Types

게시 일자: Jun 21, 2026
상세 설명
When we create a report on reports, you might want to apply a filter on Report Type of the report so that the report results contain only reports belonging to a particular record type. This should not be a problem when the report type is a custom report type created manually. However, when the report type is a standard report type available due to a relationship of a standard object with another custom object, the name of the report type is not available as an option in the report type field. The only option available is "<standard object name> with custom object", which includes all standard report types related to all the custom object relationships of the standard object.

e.g.: "Opportunities with Custom Object".
솔루션

This is a known limitation in Salesforce Reports. When the report type is a standard report type created automatically from a standard-to-custom object relationship, the specific object name is not exposed in the Report Type filter. The following workaround uses the 'Object Name' field as a secondary filter to narrow results to the correct custom object.

Workaround Steps:

A workaround for this situation is to configure the report filters as in the following example:

Example Workaround Configuration:

  •  Report Type equals Opportunities with Custom Object
  • AND Custom Entity: Object Name equals custom_object_api_name (use the Object Name from Setup, without the __c suffix, not the label).
