Updating a Converted Lead Record

Description

To edit converted leads, you need to have “View and Edit Converted Leads” permission enabled at the Profile level or assigned through a Permission Set.

Resolution

When an Account associated with a converted Lead is merged, Salesforce updates the ConvertedAccountId and SystemModStamp fields on that Lead. This can cause the Lead to appear multiple times in queries ordered by SystemModStamp.

Notes: 

  • This can result in unexpected results when querying converted Leads, and may display duplicates such as the original and then the post-conversion Account, when querying based on the 'SystemModStamp.'
  • This should be taken into consideration when maintaining a history of converted Leads and issuing queries to Leads based on the 'SystemModStamp,' as a Lead can appear multiple times - once for each Account it is associated with.
