Error 'URL no longer exists' received by Partner Community Users

Publiseringsdato: Oct 13, 2022
Beskrivelse

Error message, "URL no longer exists" when partner site user tries to log in to Salesforce.

This error is due to an active "Use Site.com to create custom community pages" selection under Tabs & Pages. If you select Use Site.com to create custom site pages, the first page customers see is the Home Page selected in the Site Configuration for your Site.com site. However, if there are no sites created for Site.com, it will throw a "URL no longer exists" error while logging in to Salesforce.

In order to resolve the issue, the following steps need to be taken:

  1. Go to the Administration tile
In Lightning Experience, navigate to Setup | Digital Experiences | All Sites | Workspaces | Administration

In Salesforce Classic, navigate to Setup | Customize | Digital Experiences | All Sites | Workspaces | Administration

  1. Click Tabs or Pages.
  2. To use standard tabs, select Use Salesforce.com tabs.
  3. Save.

These changes ensure that there is a Home Page where the user gets directed to. After the changes, the issue should be fixed.

Additionally, this can also happen in a sandbox environment when using the Community Designer. The Community Designer is a site but sites cannot be published in a sandbox environment.
