Enable the compact feed view on Cases

Publish Date: May 6, 2026
Description

The compact feed view in the Salesforce Service Console displays a condensed version of the Case feed, making it easier for agents to view case activity without scrolling through large feed items. This article explains how administrators can enable the compact feed view on Case page layouts for both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.

Resolution

To enable the compact feed view, the Case page layout must be a feed-based layout. Follow the steps below for Classic or Lightning Experience:

Note: You may switch to Classic in order to see which layouts are feed-based.

In Classic:

  1. Go to Setup | Customize | Cases | Page Layouts
  2. Select a feed based layout.
  3. Click on the Feed View link on the page layout editor header.
  4. Select Enable Compact Feed View in the Console from the Feed View Options section.
  5. Click on Save.

In Lightning:

  1. Go to Setup | Object Manager | Cases | Page Layouts
  2. Select a feed based layout.
  3. Click on the Feed View link on the page layout editor header.
  4. Select Enable Compact Feed View in the Console from the Feed View Options section.
  5. Click on Save.
