Difference between 'Comment' and 'Full Comment' in 'Activity' reports

When I run an activity Report for Task and Appointments, I noticed the option to add 2 fields Comments and Full Comment to the report. What's the difference between the two?

A Comment will display up to 1000 characters from the original Activity Field.

Full Comments will display the entire comment from the long text Activity Field.  In Activities reports, the Full Comments field will contain the entire body of any emails sent from Salesforce. 

The Full Comments field is a field which is automatically available in Standard Reports, it is not available in Custom Report Types
