Error: 'Invalid username or password' on Salesforce login

Salesforce has discontinued support for Microsoft Internet Explorer as of 12/31/2020, and some features will not function when accessed from these browsers. Salesforce Customer Support will not investigate issues related to Internet Explorer.

If you've reset your password or changed your username and receive an "Invalid username or Password" error the next time you attempt to login with your new credentials, try these troubleshooting steps:

  •  Have your administrator manually edit your username (and remove any spaces at the end of the username) and save.
  • Use instance.salesforce.com (for example: cs10.salesforce.com) instead of test.salesforce.com if the login issue is happening in the Sandbox environment.

  • Clear out any saved passwords when logging in. 
  • Unable to login to Salesforce
