Empty ‘Price List’ When Adding Products to an Opportunity

When adding products to an opportunity, you may see an empty Price List even though your organization has active products. This occurs when the opportunity's currency doesn't match any product currencies in your price books. For example, if you set an opportunity to EUR currency but all your products have USD list prices, no products will appear. 

Notes: 

  • The Opportunity currency must match the currency of the associated Price Book entry.
  • For example, if the Opportunity currency is set to EUR, only products with a EUR list price are shown.
  • In multi-currency organizations, each Opportunity can have its own currency.

If the Price List is blank, it is typically due to a mismatch between the Opportunity currency and the product’s price book entries, or missing pricing configuration. Use the options below based on your scenario:

Option 1: Update the Opportunity Currency
Use this option if products exist but are not visible due to a currency mismatch.

  1. Open the Opportunity record.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Change the Currency to match the product’s currency.
  4. Click Save.

Option 2: Add or Update Product Pricing
Use this option if the product does not have a Standard Price or is not added to the relevant Price Book.

Before adding a product to a custom Price Book, ensure a Standard Price is defined:

  1. Open the Product record.
  2. Go to the Price Books related list.
  3. Next to Standard Price, click Add (or Edit if it exists).
  4. Enter the price, mark it as Active, and click Save.

Then, add or update the product in a custom Price Book:

  1. From the Product record, go to the Price Books related list.
  2. Click Add to Price Book (or Edit next to an existing entry).
  3. Enter the List Price or select Use Standard Price.
  4. Mark the entry as Active.
  5. Click Save.

Option 3: Update Search Layout (If Multi-Currency Is Not Enabled)
Use this option if products exist but the List Price field is not visible during product selection.

Lightning Experience:

  1. Go to Setup.
  2. Navigate to Object ManagerPrice Book Entry.
  3. Select Search Layouts.
  4. Edit the Search Results layout.
  5. Add List Price to the selected fields.
  6. Click Save.

Classic:

  1. Go to SetupCustomizePrice BookPrice Book Entries.
  2. Edit Search Layouts.
  3. Add List Price to selected fields.
  4. Click Save.
