Error 'HTML file upload not allowed' when Email-to-Case email contains an HTML file attachment

Description
When you send an email to the Email-to-case or email service address, emails containing an HTML file attachment will be rejected and a case will not be created.  The error email sent to 'Automated Case User' returns a message: 
  • 'HTML_FILE_UPLOAD_NOT_ALLOWED : Your organization has disabled uploads of this file type.'
Résolution


This error occurs if the File Handling Options for your organization are set to "Don't allow HTML uploads as attachments or document records'. For more information, see Configure File Upload  and Download Security Settings.
