Data Loader for Partner Site Users

Partner Site Users in Salesforce can use Data Loader to perform bulk data operations, including imports, exports, updates, and deletions. However, Partner User Licenses require specific configuration steps to enable API access and connect to Data Loader. Without these steps, Partner Users are unable to authenticate with the Data Loader tool.

For Partner Site Users to Use Data Loader

Follow these steps to configure and use Data Loader for Partner Site Users:

  1. Grant API access by enabling API Enabled on a custom Partner User profile or permission set.
  2. Download and install Data Loader from GitHub: forcedotcom / dataloader releases. See Install Data Loader for detailed instructions.
  3. Set the Data Loader Server Host to either:
    1. Production: https://login.salesforce.com
    2. Sandbox: https://test.salesforce.com
  4. Leave the Security Token blank. Partner User Licenses do not use security tokens, and a security token is not required for this license type.

Important Note on Revoking Data Loader Access

You can remove 'API Enabled' from the Profile or Permission Set at any time to prevent Partner Site Users from logging in using Data Loader.
