Salesforce for Outlook Registry GUIDs

Publiceringsdatum: Nov 22, 2023
Beskrivning

When you install Salesforce For Outlook (SFO), each version creates a GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) in the Windows Registry.

Listed are the GUIDs for different versions. Also included are the steps to find the GUID installed on your computer using the Command prompt.

The GUID gets created in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

Here’s an example:
If you have SFO 2.7.01 installed on your machine, you find the GUID in.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

You can also use the steps below to list all the installed applications on your machine and see all the details information including the GUID about them.

The steps below also help you with obtaining the list of all installed applications into a .txt file in case you need to provide that to R&D.

Using the Windows Instrumentation command-line interface (WMIC) you can create a quick list or even generate a text file or HTML or HTM file for printing.

1. Click the Start button.
2. Click All Programs and select Accessories.
3. Select Command Prompt. Right-click on it and click on Run as Administrator.
4. At the command prompt, type in WMIC and press Return.

5. You see a new prompt:  wmic:root\cli>  as you see in the image above.
6. Execute the command below to get a summary with all the information on Salesforce programs installed on the computer, in an HTML format with nice formatting, easy to read.
(You MUST create the Software.hml file manually on the C drive, of if you like to create it somewhere else, you can change the path in the command below)

Example: The "sfo" folder was created and a file name 'Software.html' was created in there.

/output:C:\sfo\Software.html product where "name like '%Salesforce for out%'" get /format:htable

Note*
If you get an error alias not found or any other kind of error, simply restart the command prompt and retry. Make sure you run it as Administrator.

After running this command, it can take a few seconds before you see the results saved in the .html file. So just be patient

To get a list of all the installed applications on your computer in a .txt file, you can run this command:
wmic /output:software.txt   product get  /format:htable

To get a list of installed applications with certain information such as name version and more in an ice format, you can use the following command. You may need to create the software.html file on the C: drive manually before running this command

/output:c:\software.html product get Name, Version, IdentifyingNumber, InstallDate, InstallLocation, InstallSource,Vendor /format:htable

**IdentifyingNumber  is the GUID
