How to Find the GUID of Your Installed SFO Version Using Command Prompt

The Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line (WMIC) tool allows you to query installed applications and retrieve GUID information. This is useful when diagnosing SFO installation issues or providing details to Salesforce R&D.
To find the GUID of the installed SFO version:

1. Click the Start button and navigate to All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
2. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
3. At the command prompt, type WMIC and press Enter.
4. At the wmic:root\cli> prompt, run the following command to generate an HTML report of all Salesforce for Outlook installations:

/output:C:\sfo\Software.html product where "name like '%Salesforce for out%'" get /format:htable
Note: Create the output file path (e.g., C:\sfo\Software.html) manually before running the command. The command may take a few seconds to complete. Run as Administrator to avoid "alias not found" errors.
To get a list of all installed applications in a text file, run:
wmic /output:software.txt product get /format:htable
To get a detailed list including name, version, install date, and GUID (listed as IdentifyingNumber), run:
/output:c:\software.html product get Name, Version, IdentifyingNumber, InstallDate, InstallLocation, InstallSource, Vendor /format:htable
