Public Tags allow users to add searchable keywords to records for organization-wide visibility. This feature is only available in Classic. It is useful for organizations that want to categorize and surface records across teams using shared, standardized keywords. For example, a support team working in Salesforce Classic can tag cases with relevant keywords like "billing" or "escalated" so that all users across the org can search and filter records by those tags.
In the event your organization is unable to turn on Public Tags, Salesforce Support may be able to help. Prior to requesting the activation, it's best to ensure you've followed all steps needed to turn it on. Before submitting your request, please review Enable Tags.
Public Tags is only available in Salesforce Classic and is not supported in Lightning Experience.
