Null Handling in CRM Analytics

Julkaisupäivä: Jul 8, 2026
Kuvaus

CRM Analytics uses data from Salesforce or from an external data source. To prevent data quality issues, CRM Analytics disregards any fields in Salesforce (or columns in external data) that are entirely null — meaning every record in that field has a null value with no exceptions.
The null field or column will not exist in the resulting dataset. Any references to that field or column in a dataflow transformation, lens, or dashboard will cause errors.
Example: If the CloseDate field on the Opportunity object has never been populated in a sandbox org, CRM Analytics excludes it from the dataset. Any dashboard widget or lens that references CloseDate will fail with a field-not-found error.

Fix errors caused by including null fields or columns

When a field or column is entirely null, CRM Analytics drops it from the dataset entirely. Any dataflow transformation (such as a sfdcDigest node), lens, or dashboard that references this missing field will fail. Use the options below to resolve the error.

Option 1 — Add a non-null value to the source data

Ensure the field or column has at least one non-null value in the source data. If the field or column is not needed in CRM Analytics, remove it from the dataflow sfdcDigest node or external data file rather than leaving it empty.

Option 2 — Provide a default value
