Enable the 'Administrators Can Log in as Any User' Feature

This article explains how to enable the 'Administrators Can Log in as Any User' feature within your Salesforce Organization. With this feature enabled, System Administrators can log in as any user in their organization without asking internal end users to grant login access. 

Available Editions 

Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer Editions

User Permission Needed: 

  • Modify All Data
  • Manage User

Prerequisites

Before you request this feature, review the following documentation:

Notes: 

  • If you don't have access to the feature and your org isn't Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, or Developer Edition, vote for the enhancement request on the IdeaExchange. Learn how to find your edition here.
  • If your org does use one of these editions, check with your Salesforce administrator to activate the access permissions on your profile.
  • This feature doesn’t apply to or affect Experience Cloud Site Users.
  • A Salesforce administrator cannot log in as a user if the user is inactive.
  • If a system administrator in logged in as a user and then logs out as that user, their current session will also be terminated and they may be forced to login again.
  • You cannot login as another user if you're already logged in as a user.
  • This feature cannot be activated on Professional Edition or lower.
Løsning
A system administrator for your org can enable this feature through the following steps:

In Salesforce Classic

  1. Click Setup.
  2. Enter Login Access Policies in the Quick Find box.
  3. Select the Administrators Can Log in as Any User checkbox.
  4. Click Save.

In Lightning Experience

  1. Click the gear icon > Setup
  2. Enter Login Access Policies in the Quick Find box.
  3. Select the Administrators Can Log in as Any User checkbox.
  4. Click Save.
If you are on the correct edition but do not see the above option in Login Access Policies

A member of the Salesforce Sales organization must provision this feature. Please contact your Account Executive and ask them to run Manual Provisioning for the related environment.

Before Requesting This Feature

This feature is only available for Enterprise Edition, Unlimited Edition, Developer Edition, and Performance Edition.

If an edition upgrade is needed, any member of Support can point the customer to their Account Executive. If the org has no AE, please provide them with the following contact information for Sales: 1-800-NO-SOFTWARE.

If you've reviewed all relevant documentation and still need assistance with activating this feature, please have a System Administrator create an activation request with Support.
