Salesforce Data Export Files Not Available for Download After Export Completes

Data pubblicazione: Jun 17, 2026
Descrizione

After a Salesforce Data Export completes and an email confirmation is received, administrators may find that the export files are no longer available for download in Setup. This is expected behavior caused by one of two conditions described in the Resolution section below.
Data Export is a Salesforce feature that allows administrators to export all data from their Salesforce org as a set of CSV files. Exports are accessible in Setup for a limited time after completion.

Risoluzione

The following two scenarios cause export files to become unavailable. Both are expected platform behavior.

Cause 1 — Download Window Has Expired (48-Hour Limit)

Salesforce export files are only available for download for 48 business hours after the export completes. If this window has passed, the files are no longer accessible.
If your org's data volume requires more than 48 hours to download, contact Salesforce Support to request removal of the time restriction. This option is available for Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions only.

Cause 2 — A New Export Was Triggered Before Files Were Downloaded

When a new Salesforce Data Export job starts, it automatically deletes the files from the previous export.
Example: If the previous export completes on a Friday and a new export is scheduled to start on Sunday, the previous export files will not be available to download on Monday.
Best practice: Schedule your export to begin at the end of a day when you will have availability to download the previous export. In the example above, reschedule the new export to start on Monday evening, giving you all of Monday to download the previous export files.
