Roll Back a Salesforce 1GP or 2GP Managed Package to a Previous Version

This article explains how to work around the inability to roll back an installed 1GP or 2GP managed package to a previously installed version in Salesforce.

Why You Cannot Roll Back a Managed Package

Salesforce does not support rolling back or downgrading a first-generation managed package (1GP) or second-generation managed package (2GP) to a previously installed version.

Workaround: Reinstall the Earlier Package Version

The only workaround is to complete the following steps:

1. Export all data associated with the managed package before uninstalling.
2. Uninstall the current package version.
3. Reinstall the desired earlier version.
4. Import the previously exported data back into the org.

Note: Uninstalling a package deletes all package data. Ensure you have a complete data export before proceeding.
