Report on Multiple Child Objects with the Same Parent Object

Admins can create Custom Report Types for a Primary Object and a Child Object. These Custom Report Types can also include a "grandchild" and a "great-grandchild" object but not "sibling" objects (in other words, more than one Child Object within the same report).

To report on multiple Child Objects with the same Parent Object, create a joined report with one report type for each parent-child relationship.
 

Notes:

  • Each report type should be a separate block.
  • For the most meaningful results, select a common field (from the parent object) to group across blocks.
Solución


For example, here is how to create a Joined Report based on Products and Quotes, which are both child objects of Opportunities:
 

1. Click the Reports tab and click New Report.
2. Select the Report Type Opportunities with Products and click Continue.
3. In Lightning, click on the report dropdown in the upper-left, select Joined Report, then click Apply.
In Classic, change the format from Tabular Format to Joined Format.
4. In Lightning, click Add Block. In Classic, click Add Report Type.
5. Select the Report Type Opportunities with Quotes and Quote Line Items, then click Add Block.
