Users Missing from Salesforce Pipeline Forecasting Hierarchy

Дата публикации: May 11, 2026
Описание

When setting up the forecast hierarchy in Pipeline Forecasting, certain users in a given role may not appear as available when 'Enable Users' is selected.

Решение

There are a couple of common resolutions to this issue:

  1. Make sure the User is set up for 'Allow Forecasting'. See Turn On Salesforce Forecasting and Define Forecast Settings .
  2. If the affected Users are set up with 'Allow Forecasting' but still cannot be added to the Forecast Hierarchy, try removing the affected users from their assigned role; save, and then put them back in that role.
  3. In the forecast hierarchy, assign a forecast manager to a  role. Then users reporting to that role would be visible inside the Forecast tab.

If neither option resolves the issue, contact Salesforce Support for further assistance.

Additional Considerations

Manager Judgment Limitation
Managers cannot adjust their own opportunities through forecasting — they can only modify the forecasts of their direct subordinates. If a manager needs to adjust their own numbers, this must be done directly on the opportunity record itself, not through the Forecast tab.

"View All Forecasts" Permission Workaround
If a user needs visibility into the full forecast hierarchy without being a forecast manager, the "View All Forecasts" permission can be granted via their Profile or Permission Set. This allows read-only visibility across the entire hierarchy without requiring a manager role assignment.

Forecast Tab Hidden on Profile (Common Cause of Forecast Tab Errors)
If a user reports that the Forecast tab is missing or throws an error, check whether the Forecast tab visibility is set to "Hidden" on their profile. Navigate to Setup > Profiles > [User's Profile] > Object Settings > Forecasts and ensure the tab setting is set to "Default On" or "Default Off" — not "Hidden".
