Sales: Enable Use Apex Lead Convert for Validation Rules on Lead Conversion

Activating

Before submitting an activation request, check if you can enable this directly in Setup:

1. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen, then click Setup.

2. Enter Lead Settings in the 'Quick Find' search box.

3. Click Lead Settings.

4. On the Lead Settings page, click the Edit button and select the checkbox for Require Validation for Converted Leads.

5. Click Save.

If the Require Validation for Converted Leads option is not available in your org's Lead Settings, proceed to request activation of the 'Use Apex Lead Convert' permission through Salesforce Support.

Requesting Support Activation:

If you've reviewed all relevant documentation and the self-service option is not available, please have a System Administrator create an activation request with Support.

Important Notes Before and After Activation:

• Enabling 'Use Apex Lead Convert' will also affect Process Builders, Workflows, Apex Triggers, Required Field Settings, and validation rules.

• This may also remove previous conversion Field Mappings if enabled. Review and document your existing Lead conversion field mappings before the activation is applied.

• After activation, verify that your Lead conversion process works as expected and that no unintended validation rules are blocking conversions.
