Enable the Salesforce Permission 'Create Audit Fields' for Standard Profiles

Udgivelsesdato: Jun 12, 2025
Beskrivelse

A Permission Set with the permission 'Create Audit Fields' is needed to grant this permission to Users assigned a standard profile and for Professional Edition organizations.

Notes:

  • When enabling audit fields, it's necessary to also assign Users the ability to use the permission 'Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation' and 'Update Records with Inactive Owners' via the 'Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation' profile permission.
  • However, you may be wondering how to assign this permission when it's not possible to edit standard profiles or if you're on the Professional Edition which doesn't have access to profiles.
  • With these permissions, Lightning and API users can fill audit fields on record creation only (future edits cannot be made).

For more informations on Audit fields, see Considerations and Activation of "Create Audit Fields" in Salesforce.
