Resolution (UPDATED)

Factor 1: Source Report Complexity

All source reports must complete before a dashboard refresh can finish. Each dashboard component depends on its underlying report being executed, processed, and rendered into the dashboard. As report complexity increases, the dashboard refresh time also increases.

For guidance on improving report performance, refer to the Additional Resources section below.

Factor 2: Dashboard Refresh Queue

Dashboard refreshes are processed through a server-side queue. Refresh requests are handled in a first-in, first-out (FIFO) order. If other dashboard refreshes are already in progress on the same server, your dashboard refresh may be delayed until those requests complete.

Recommendations for Faster Dashboard Refreshes

  • Simplify source reports by reducing unnecessary filters, formulas, and fields.
  • Split large dashboards into smaller, focused dashboards where appropriate.
  • Schedule dashboard refreshes during off-peak hours to reduce the impact of server load.
  • Review report performance and apply optimization best practices.
