Export custom labels into a CSV file

Fecha de publicación: Nov 4, 2024
Descripción

Custom Labels are stored as metadata, and so they are not accessible when you perform an export, import, or delete using Data Loader.

While there is no native functionality to export Custom Labels into a CSV, there's a workaround you can use to create a spreadsheet containing your Custom Label information.

Solución

To export Custom Labels into a CSV file

1. Go to:
  • Salesforce Classic: Setup | Build | Create | Custom Labels
  • Lighting Experience: Setup | Platform Tools | User Interface | Custom Labels

2. Highlight everything in the Custom Label list view page, from the columns Action, Name, Categories, Short Description, Value, and Language all the way down to the last custom label you see on the page. If you have more than 1 page, click more at the bottom until you've exposed all of your Custom Labels.
3. Copy the selection.
4. Paste the copied selection to a spreadsheet program like Excel.
5. Clean the data. Remove the column for 'Action' as well as column B, which should either be blank or contain icons.
6. Save as a CSV file.
