Error 'Unable to finish processing request' when you access Content Library

Customers at times may see the following error message while accessing the library page:

"UNABLE TO FINISH PROCESSING REQUEST" - An error has occurred while processing your request. The Salesforce support team has been notified of the problem. If you believe you have additional information that may help in reproducing the error, please contact support@salesforce.com. Please indicate the URL of the page you were requesting as well as any other related information. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you again for your patience and assistance. And thanks for using salesforce!

Solución

This issue is most commonly seen when browsing Content Libraries in Chrome, but could occur in other browsers.

To resolve the error, it's necessary to clear your browsing data to allow Chrome to load the library completely again. 

Option 1: 


Use the Chrome feature that allows you to Browse in private and access the library.

This option is a temporary solution, since you would need to load the library through the private browser every time to access it. Because Option 2 involves clearing your browsers data, it is recommended that you try Option 1 first to validate it resolves the error message. 

Option 2: 

Clear the browsing data in Chrome: 

1. Click the browser menu in Chrome. 
2. Select More tools.
3. Select Clear browsing data...
4. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files.
5. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
6. Click Clear data.
7. Once this is done, close all browser windows and open a fresh browser to try again.
