These are some reasons for which an object may not show:

  1. The object has been renamed through Rename Tabs and Labels, the singular name will show up in workflow, or when choosing the object in Process Builder.

Check if an object has been renamed

In Salesforce Classic

  1. Click Setup.
  2. Under Customize, click Tab Names and Label.
  3. Click Rename Tabs and Labels.
  4. Tab Name is the standard name and Display Label is the renamed value for the object.

In Lightning Experience

  1. Click the gear icon and click Setup.
  2. Click User interface.
  3. Click Rename Tabs and Labels.
  4. Tab Name is the standard name and Display Label is the renamed value for the object.

In Process Builder, when creating an action to update records related to the record you started from, and looking for a Detail/Child relation, you will find the object listed by the Child Relationship Name, as defined on the Master/Detail or Lookup relationship.

Initially Process Builder will show only a 100 objects, use type ahead, to limit the number of objects/fields shown.

  1. This situation might also appear if the objects have been created via an installed package and this package requires a license. Only Users with a license assigned for this package would be able to create a workflow rule or a Process Builder on those objects.

Assign a license on the User detail page for the managed package from which the objects are part of

Salesforce Classic:

 1. Click Setup | Administer | Manage Users | Users.

2. Click the User you want to assign the license to.

3. Check for related list on Managed Package.

4. Click the Assign Licenses button.

5. Select the Users to assign the Managed Package.

6. Click Save.

Lightning Experience:

1. Navigate to Setup | Administration | Users.
2. Click the User you want to assign the license to.

3. Check for related list on Managed Package.

4. Click the Assign Licenses button.

5. Select the Users to assign the Managed Package.

6. Click Save.

Note: Process Builder is no longer supported as of December 31, 2025. Consider migrating automation to Flow Builder.
