Email addresses on Salesforce sandbox User records are appended with an extension to render them invalid (for example "user@sandbox.com.invalid"). To learn more, review Email addresses in sandbox appended with '.invalid' after refresh.
Impacted Users can typically be addressed by an Administrator with access in the Sandbox. However, if you're the only system administrator in a sandbox and you've forgotten your sandbox password, you will not receive a 'password reset' email because of the modifications made to email addresses. This can prevent Sandbox access.
In cases where there are no other system administrators who can access the sandbox to update your email address, you can create a case with the Activations Team and the Support Team can update your email address without the need for a written request from a C-Level employee.
Support will only match the email address to that of the active corresponding production User based on the username. If another email is desired, the 'Admin Email Change Request' process is what we would need to be followed to resolve the access issue. Please use the process detailed below if this is the case:
Previous email: admin@sandbox.com.invalid
Updated email: admin@sandbox.com
