When users accidentally delete records, you have 15 days to recover them from the Recycle Bin. If your team needs more time to identify and restore deleted data, you can extend this retention period to 30 days. The Extended Recycle Bin Retention feature extends the default retention period from 15 days to 30 days and must be activated by Salesforce Support.

The retention period can only be set to 15 or 30 days — there is no option for a custom retention value.
The 30-day retention extension is only fully accessible in Salesforce Classic (Home Page → Recycle Bin). If your organization uses Lightning Experience, you may need to switch to Salesforce Classic to find and restore records deleted more than 15 days ago.
