Error 'INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_ON_CROSS_REFERENCE_ENTITY' while creating Case or Lead records

When attempting to create a case or lead via API or Apex, you may see an error like,  'INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_ON_CROSS_REFERENCE_ENTITY'.  This generally happens if the email template associated with Case/Lead Assignment rules is inaccessible to the user.
Lösung

To resolve, grant required access to the user for the folder in which the template is stored.  

To access Classic Email Templates:
  1. Go to Setup | Administer | Communication Templates | Classic Email Templates 
  2. Beside custom folder, click on 'Edit' and set the desired level of access (depending on Role, Public Groups, etc)
  3. Save.
For Lightning Email Templates:
  1. Go to 'Email Templates' from App Launcher
  2. Select the template folder and click on 'Share' from the dropdown.
  3. Set the desired level of access and Save.
